Future’s Freewishes Foundation is giving back in a major way this April.

Atlanta, GA, April 6th, 2022…. For the past twelve years, Grammy-winning artist and executive, Future and his Freewishes Foundation have made an enormous impact in the Atlanta metro community.  Through various initiatives and community efforts, Freewishes has been an essential resource for children, students, and the adult senior community.  Scholarships, holiday giveaways, and assisting senior citizens are just some of the yearly initiatives that are a key part of the foundation.  This April, the foundation is elevating its impact and Future is making sure that all Atlanta metro kids have a happy easter. Future’s foundation is preparing for two enormous events that are close to his family’s heart.

On Saturday, April 16h, the Foundation is presenting a spectacular Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza for the metro ATL community in conjunction with the city of Forest Park, GA.   Freewishes is inviting kids to an Eggstraordinary’ fun in the sun during the City of Forest Park’s annual Spring Fest, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, at Kiwanis Stadium.

 

This year’s jam-packed event will feature several outdoor activities, including bounce houses, face painting, horseback riding, a mechanical bull, food, giveaways, and much more.

 

“Our goal with this community-wide event is to bring people from all walks of life together to not only have a fun-filled day but to strengthen the bonds between them,” said Future. 

 

Youth ages 12 and under will also be able to put their egg hunting skills to the test during one of the largest Easter egg hunts in metro Atlanta. More than 30,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes will be spread across three baseball fields next to the stadium. The egg hunt will be organized by age groups to give each youth a chance to participate.

 

Date:  Saturday, April 16, from 1 to 5 p.m. (Easter egg hunt to begin a 4 p.m.)Where: Kiwanis Stadium, located off South Avenue in Forest Park Cost: Registration for this event is not required, and there is NO COST to attend.

“A lot of people were isolated since covid, and this is our chance to re-connect everyone and allow them to enjoy. We are all better together,” added his sister Tia Wilburn, Community Engagement Director of Freewishes.

 

Prior to this, on April 15th the Freewishes Foundation will have a special reveal of their renovation of Columbia High School’s weight room. Through the years, Future and his family have been giving back to his former school through sponsored events, workshops, and scholarships to seniors.  One day Future and Tia realized that their old high school needed an updated weight room.

“Columbia has had the same weight room since I was attending there,” said Tia.  “Since our foundation is very big on health and wellness it was important for us to help create an environment for students in which they could be comfortable, have pride, and perform their best.  Also, research shows that students who are physically active tend to excel academically, and have better attendance.  They are less likely to struggle with depression and other mental health issues,” shared Tia.

The Freewishes Foundation took it upon themselves to help renovate the weight room in partnership with Foot Locker. The foundation is looking forward to presenting the final reveal to students on April 15th.
