Mali Hunter, is a pioneer in the entertainment industry as she leads from a heart-centered place to ignite a force of change for female artists. She has been setting the industry ablaze and passing on the torch of empowerment, leading other women within the community to empower female artists to flourish beyond their most vivid visions of success. Her mission epitomizes women serving as guiding lights for one another by engaging in collective experiences and learning opportunities, which is a beacon of light that eradicates gender inequality and other adversities that women encounter. It also demonstrates how illuminating the path for others also brightens their individual journeys.

 

Moreover, Nike hosted the Atlanta-specific “Air Force 1- All for 1” campaign at Finish Line located in South Lake Mall. The goal of this particular event was to establish a community of force and celebrate the spirit of force, which is a symbol of empowerment for women. This kickoff event was a “private celebration of female force” within the Atlanta community, which included an art show featuring Air Force 1-inspired work by local artists as well as an evening filled with music, food, and drinks. There were eight Atlanta-based artists who showcased their unique interpretations of togetherness, echoing the message of the campaign. Guests of honor included Mali Hunter and Leslie Gomez, both of whom facilitated workshops about music and fashion to continue extending and emphasizing the message of bringing the community together around force.

 

 

Mali has been a force of change in music community, especially with her Earth Girl movement taking the industry by storm. “The spirit of force reflects female empowerment now more than ever, because I believe–especially with my Earth Girl movement–that women are realizing, like men, that there is strength in numbers and coming together as a force to be stronger together is where we all win. My legacy is love and my motto is me lighting another woman’s candle takes no flame away from mine.” These principles have allowed various women to jumpstart and thrive in their careers, as well as provide invaluable and unprecedented experiences to learn, develop, and showcase their talent.

 

 

Nike set out to simultaneously celebrate local female heroes across the nation and to also highlight the AF1 shoe, which symbolizes community, determination, and diligence–all of which women like Mali embody. Furthermore, women’s empowerment alongside the ability to stimulate imagination to invent and perform works of art were reinforced throughout the event. The purpose behind the overarching AF1-All for One campaign is to celebrate a shoe for the people. AF1s became an essential cornerstone in the hip-hop community and then evolved into fashion staple for people from all backgrounds. “From the hardwood to the concrete,” this footwear evolved over time and across settings; therefore, Nike set out to honor the people who made it the token that it is today and also celebrate how communities come together. The campaign is celebrated uniquely in each city throughout the country, with a specific focus on women.
