New York Rising Duo, DrugzKill Chats With Hip Hop United!

Childhood everyday life and circumstances often create permanent scars for some of us.  Rising east coast duo, Drugzkill captures this on their new hip hop single, entitled “permanent scars.”  The duo has been creating a buzz throughout New York and  are now gaining national attention.  As the “Feed the Family”  group rises in their journey, they are committed to authentically being themselves and inducing that authenticity back into hip hop.

In terms of duos, over the years we’ve enjoyed the soundwaves of Outkast, Mobb Deep, UGK, Clipse and more. Most groups often cite that it’s easier to be a solo act then a duo, but for Drugzkill it is their bond and unity that makes them a strong act. Raised in the same rough neighborhood, they see each other as brothers.  They are quick to point out that they are not a manufactured group thrown together by some executive.

“We’ve been rapping together for fifteen years and we grew up together-enduring the ups and downs of life. Those things…that everyday struggle can’t be contrived.  Our music is about our real life and what we honestly went through. This isn’t fiction,” they stated.  Their story is captured in the video for permanent scars.  “Nowadays it’s easy to just rap about money cars and girls but I feel like hip hop has to be more than that in order for it to keep evolving. We have to respect its essence and initial purpose.  All of that can’t get lost in clout, lies and fame.”
