After coldly murdering George Floyd in the street while he was restrained, former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin demands that all charges against him be dropped. Chauvin’s attorney, Eric J. Nelson, released a statement that requests the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office be disqualified partially because of their “inappropriate, pretrial publicity campaign” following the public execution. Another involved officer’s defense team has previously entered similar motions that Judge Peter Cahill has dismissed.
