EST GEE LINKS WITH SELFPAID SAVAGE ON NEW SINGLE “NEVER NEED”

August 16, 2024 – Today, Louisville hip-hop star EST Gee makes a triumphant return with new single “NEVER NEED” featuring Selfpaid Savage. Boasting frenetic bars amid piano-laced percussion, the track showcases Gee’s no-holds-barred storytelling and incomparable edge that fans have come to expect. Stream “NEVER NEED” HERE via CMG / Interscope Records. Watch official music video HERE.

“Sometimes you gotta end the start knowing that hurt my heart,” Gee begins the track, before eviscerating opps with each following bar. “Little bro ain’t never play a sport but he can work his fork,” he spits. “He’ll never go against big bro, I helped him get his start.” Arkansas breakout Selfpaid Savage then steps up to the mic, claiming: “I put that heat on him but he froze like a popsicle.”

Razor sharp and unflinching, “NEVER NEED” brings fiery rage and raw, palpable honesty. It’s Gee’s first single since dropping his acclaimed album El Toro 2 last summer. That was preceded by MAD, the mixtape that established Gee’s reputation as one of rap’s most poignant writers, and Gangsta Art, a CMG compilation that features the label’s all-star roster. Before that, Gee’s joint album with 42 Dugg, Last Ones Left, was met with near-universal praise and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Before that came his blockbuster debut studio album, 2022’s I Never Felt Nun, which was also celebrated by critics and reached No. 8 on the same Billboard chart, setting the tone for a stellar rap career.

Now, with “NEVER NEED,” Gee puts everyone on notice and underlines why he is one of rap’s most vital and important voices.
