Updates on DMX: Rap Legend Remains in Critical Condition, Prayer Vigil Held Tuesday

Over 500 family members, friends, and faithful fans gathered outside of the White Plains, NY hospital where DMX is being treated for life-threatening complications after suffering cardiac arrest. Among the crowd were his fiancee, Desiree, some of his 15 children, ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, children’s mother, Yadira, and Ruff Ryder members. Hospital workers also held up “X” signs with their arms and hung posters in the hospital’s windows in support of the legend’s recovery.
According to reports, police blocked off the street after the prayer vigil’s crowd volume increased for the Ruff Ryder pioneer. This community continues to support him and reciprocate the love, service, and care that he has poured into his neighborhood over throughout his career, despite his personal issues. From feeding residents on Thanksgiving to donating to the local community center he attended as a youth, DMX has been a cornerstone and major support for Yonkers.
