DJ SCREAM COVERS THE LATEST DIGITAL ISSUE OF HIP HOP UNITED!

DJ Scream is a legendary media personality, journalist, and philanthropist who has built a solid base for hip hop music and pop culture in and for Atlanta. He is the spearhead of various multimedia groups and projects including Hood Rich Radio Family and Big Facts Podcast, where he has brokered introductions between the music world and household celebrities as well as thriving underground artists. Scream not only reaches back to pull others upward in music; he also founded a youth-based organization, The Scream Foundation, to improve children’s trajectories. Scream’s platform and selfless work has garnered recognition and allowed for him to accumulate accolades from popular mainstream outlets such as BET, MTV, XXL, REVOLT and more. Big Facts Podcast is one of DJ Scream’s newer undertakings that highlights the modern African diaspora, cultivates and celebrates Black empowerment, and synthesizes controversial topics within pop culture. He merged with two additional Atlanta legends, Big Bank and Baby Jade, to carefully curate this digital streaming platform in 2019. Detavio Samuels, REVOLT’s COO emphasized, “The unfiltered, raw opinions from some of the biggest names in the game on the podcast will appeal to both new and existing audiences within the hip-hop and Black communities.” The podcast has swept both elite guest stars and the opinionated millennials and Gen-Z crowd by storm, boasting over 16 million views since its inception. Currently, Big Facts Podcast is one of the infamous REVOLT TV network’s top performing podcasts. After the show’s freshman year, expectations were exceeded and the content creators accepted partnership offers with iHeart Radio and REVOLT TV in December 2020. Big Facts Podcast can be streamed on Charlamagne Tha God’s The Black Effect via iHeart, offering fans the raw, uncut, unedited audio experience on Mondays. Thereafter, REVOLT picks up the show airing Tuesdays on YouTube and Wednesdays on their linear TV channel at 10pm EST.

Moreover, DJ Scream’s transition and progression into media was deep and benevolent, as he has made it his priority to support young artists, which he reports as doing his part as a legend in the entertainment industry. The infamous radio-based showcase, Got Barz, is a perfect example of his platform working to serve others. For artists asking how to be featured on this segment, Scream emphasizes that you should of course have bars, be dope, submit your content that will undoubtedly clear the selection process, and be prepared for raw and unfiltered feedback. He encourages people to be as creative as possible while showcasing their artistry. Barz can be in the form of singing, Afro beat, reggae, and more. The music plug even underscored that some people have made it through with a crazy flow, and although lacking lyrical content, they were entertaining enough for the audience’s and judges’ approval. Furthermore, DJ Scream is moving deeply and powerfully in his creative space. Later this year, he and his wife will be welcoming a bundle of joy. This will be his most supreme creation that requires extreme dedication like nothing he has ever experienced. He is also open and looking forward to more projects and more opportunities to expand the entertainment industry. “I want to stay away from limitations, I want to stay away from bad energy… [while] planting the seeds that’s already out there.” Growth mindset is in full effect and this hip hop veteran is prepared for his next evolution within show-biz (let’s speak movies and series into existence!) DJ Scream also shared how he has been taking steps to enrich his mental and spiritual base. By consuming various philosophical principles, mostly through reading Eastern philosophy texts, he has learned and shared the benefits of following the blueprint to one’s own life, as expectations breeds depression. In today’s social climate, this is a healthy closing note as love from the legend.
