BET AND NISSAN JOIN FORCES FOR POPULAR EMERGING ARTIST INITIATIVE, BET AMPLIFIED NATIONAL WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPION & RISING RAPPER FLAU’JAE NAMED ‘BET AMPLIFIED’ ARTIST FOR OCTOBER 2024

New York, NY, October 3, 2024BET and Nissan have teamed up to spotlight rising artists in music for the esteemed BET Amplifiedinitiative. Launched in 2020, BET Amplified is recognized as BET’s seal of endorsement for the next big thing in music, and spotlights artists poised for major impact in the industry. With over 10 years of support for this emerging artist platform, Nissan joins BET again this month to spotlight a new artist with its original one-on-one docu-style interview, “Road to Stardom,” set to air on BET.com and the official BET YouTube Channel. This month’s BET Amplified artist is none other than the multitalented, rising rap star and National Women’s Basketball Champion Flau’jae Johnson.

Flau’jae, born in Savannah, Georgia, has been a rising force in both the music and sports worlds. As the daughter of the late rapper Camoflauge, she carries on her father’s legacy while blazing her own trail. Her musical journey began early, with appearances onAmerica’s Got Talent and The Rap Game, where she wowed audiences with her unique lyrical style and powerful performances. Most recently, she released her debut studio EP, Best of Both Worlds, featuring collaborations with Lil Wayne, NLE Choppa, and 2Rare. The lead single, “Came Out A Beast” featuring Lil Wayne, has garnered major buzz, with the music video showcasing iconic scenes at LSU, including Flau’jae with LSU’s championship trophy and appearances from Coach Kim Mulkey and her teammates. It is no wonder why the multi-hyphenate rapper and athlete was scooped up and signed under Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Distribution in a historic deal back in 2021.

Flau’jae’s basketball career also continues to thrive. She earned Second Team All-SEC honors for the 2023-24 season and was a key player in LSU’s historic National Championship run. Her ability to balance basketball and music has made her a standout figure and a true inspiration to young fans everywhere.

Flau’jae can now add BET Amplified Artists to her list of accolades. As a BET Amplified artist, Flau’jae will receive BET Music and Nissan’s support across multiple BET campaigns and platforms, including BET, BET Her, BET Jams, BET Soul, BET.com, BET Socials, andBET’s Official YouTube Page.
